The Chapter Bylaws are the fundamental governing document for the Chapter, outlining its structure, rules, and procedures. They serve as the legal framework for the organization’s operation.
The Chapter Bylaws determine several key aspects of the chapter, including:
Organizational Structure: They define the composition of the Chapter Executive Committee (CEC), including the specific Officers (President, Secretary, Treasurer, etc.) and Directors (Membership, Education/Programs, Community Service, etc.) and their respective roles.
Governance and Authority: They empower the CEC with authority over the Chapter, such as:
Promulgating the policies and programs of the Association and the Chapter.
Adopting the Annual Budget and approving revisions.
Establishing the Chapter dues schedule.
Developing and implementing the Policy and Procedures Manual and approving all changes.
Operational Procedures: They prescribe the procedures for adequate budgetary and financial controls.
Membership & Elections: They set the rules for the election of officers and directors, including nomination windows and the process for balloting and certification of results.
Committees: They establish the various Committees and Task Forces (like the Bylaws and Procedures Committee and Nominating Committee) that assist the CEC.
